Using the Help Command

Use the help command to browse categories, look up commands, and find usage details.

Browse all categories

Running the help command with no arguments gives you a high-level overview of every command category Nevi offers.

Usage

/helpbrowse all command categories

Nevi responds with a list of categories like Moderation, Economy, Music, Fun, and more. Each category shows a brief description and the number of commands it contains. Select a category to drill down into its commands.

Get details for a specific command

Pass a command name to help to see its full usage information, required permissions, available options, and examples.

Usage

/help <command>get details for a specific command

Example

/help ban

The command detail view shows you:

  • Description - what the command does.
  • Usage syntax - required and optional parameters, shown with <required> and [optional] brackets.
  • Permission level - the required level (User, Mod, Admin, or Owner).
  • Examples - real usage examples you can copy.
  • Aliases - alternative names for the same command (prefix-based platforms only).

You can also pass a category name to list every command in that category.

Online reference

Prefer browsing commands outside of Discord? Nevi has two online references:

Commands Page

The /commands page on this website lists every command with its syntax, options, and required permission level. You can search and filter by category.

Documentation

These docs (the pages you're reading now) go deeper than the commands page. They explain how features work, provide configuration guides, and include troubleshooting tips. Use the sidebar or search (⌘K) to find any topic.

Both the in-bot help and the online references stay in sync and pull from the same command data.
